Dubai Chocolate Strawberries

Dubai chocolate strawberries dessert.

Ingredient Notes

Ingredients for recipe: tahini, butter, crushed pistachios, coconut oil, kataifi, pistachio cream, and chocolate chips.
  • Strawberries: This is what the Dubai chocolate strawberry cups are mostly filled with. I recommend halving the strawberries or cutting them into fourths for help check out my tutorial on how to cut strawberries. You can definitely try this with other berries though or even sliced bananas.
  • Chocolate: You can use any chocolate you like. I like to use semi-sweet chocolate chips or a dark chocolate bar. Melt it so that you can easily drizzle it on the berries.
  • Coconut oil: I use the coconut oil to make the chocolate more drippy and shiny when I melt it. You can leave it out or add some butter or oil instead.
  • Kataifi: This is shredded pastry dough that is used in Middle Eastern desserts like my knafeh recipe. It comes in long strands, so chop it up until it looks like vermicelli, and it makes it easier to fry. You can also buy this on Amazon.
  • Pistachio Butter or pistachio cream: Look for it at Middle Eastern grocery stores, Italian specialty shops, or on Amazon. Go for crunchy or creamy. You can even make your own (my recipe is coming soon!)
  • Tahini: This is optional to stir with the pistachio butter and it helps to balance out all the sweetness in the recipes.
  • Add melted white chocolate: You can drizzle this on top of the dark chocolate for more variety and adding a creamy flavor to it.
  • Go gold: Dubai chocolate is all about the gold and glam so if you find gold colored sprinkles, they would be super fun to add to this.
  • Top it with whipped cream: The layers of strawberries, chocolate and pistachios go so well with something creamy on top. Add just a couple tablespoons and it makes the dubai chocolate strawberry cups more decadent!

My Best Dubai Chocolate Strawberry Tips

  1. Use a piping bag for easier drizzling. And if you don’t have a piping bag, just use a zip-top bag and cut the corner with scissors and drizzle the melted chocolate.
  2. Prep the kataifi layer ahead. Because you can use the kataifi pistachio layer for making dubai chocolate bar and many other treats, you can prep this part in advance and store it in the fridge to use when ready. If it looks clumpy, just reheat it slightly.
  3. Make sure the kataifi is crunchy. Take your time toasting it so that the kataifi is golden brown and gives the filling the right texture! Kataifi can clump, so you might want to break it up well with a knife or your hands.
